Hello! My name is Sandra, and I am an industrial technology engineer with a specialization in Mechatronics. I am driven by a passion for technology, innovation, and continuous learning. I hold a degree in Industrial Technology Engineering with a focus on mechanical design, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Electronics and Automation, to expand my expertise in mechatronics systems.
I have had the privilege of working on various engineering projects, ranging from designing mechanisms for the aerospace sector to working on wind turbine systems. Currently, I am a mechanical design engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, where I specialize in fuel systems for cutting-edge aviation projects.
I am always eager to take on new challenges and opportunities that allow me to grow both personally and professionally while contributing to exciting and impactful engineering projects.
PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
In my final year of university, I joined the "Formula Student" team, where I learned to design and develop components for racing vehicles. This experience gave me my first exposure to the professional world and a deeper understanding of practical engineering.
After graduation, I gained experience through internships in different companies. My first internship was at Microdeco, where I was responsible for parts approval in the quality department, significantly developing my customer service and technical reporting skills. Later, I interned at Altran, contributing to the structural design of an air taxi project. These experiences sharpened my technical design skills and teamwork.
I then transitioned to full-time roles, starting at Sener Aeroespacial, where I designed mechanisms for the aerospace sector for two years. Afterwards, I explored the renewable energy sector with Siemens Gamesa, working with the manufacturing and assembly team for wind turbines. Here, I helped resolve technical questions related to actuation systems.
Currently, I work at Airbus Defence and Space as a mechanical design engineer, focusing on fuel systems for groundbreaking projects in military aviation.
In addition to my professional career, I actively contribute to the IEEE community. I am the President-Elect of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (Nu Alpha Chapter), preparing to lead the honor society while supporting its executive board. I also serve as the President of the IEEE Student Branch, fostering professional development and collaboration among engineering students.
Committed to excellence, scholarship, and leadership, I continuously seek opportunities to grow and contribute to both the engineering field and the academic community.
