SENER Aeroespacial

AEROSPACE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
November 2019 - January 2022

At SENER Aeroespacial, I worked as a Mechanism Design Engineer for over two years, contributing to the development of high-precision mechanical systems for space applications. My main responsibilities included the 3D design and structural analysis of aerospace components, with a focus on fluid transfer mechanisms and deployable structures.

  • Designed complex mechanical systems using CATIA V5, including kinematic modeling and tolerance analysis.
  • Performed linear, modal, and buckling simulations to evaluate structural performance under launch and space conditions.
  • Created detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly documentation, and technical reports to support reviews and qualification.

Beyond the design phase, I participated hands-on in mechanism assembly and testing, ensuring that designs met the functional and quality standards required for spaceflight.

Highlight Project:

I participated in the mechanical design of fluid transfer mechanisms for the Resource Transfer Umbilical System, part of a critical space infrastructure initiative. This work culminated in a preliminary design delivered to the European Space Agency (ESA) within three months — a key milestone in the development of the system.

  • Developed the full 3D model, and conducted early structural assessments.

This role demanded a high level of precision, rigor, and cross-functional coordination, and allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of aerospace mechanisms, from concept to physical validation.
