DESIGN AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS IN R&D
January 2019 - October 2019

As part of the R&D department for the Space and Defence sector at Altran, I contributed to the structural design and analysis of an air taxi prototype, a cutting-edge urban mobility concept. This role combined hands-on design work with analytical modeling, giving me valuable exposure to the aerospace development cycle in an innovation-driven environment.

  • Used CATIA V5 to design key structural components of the air taxi, focusing on geometry, interfaces, and manufacturability.
  • Performed advanced Finite Element Analyses using Hypermesh, including linear, buckling and modal simulations.

Beyond technical modeling, I was responsible for producing comprehensive technical documentation, detailing the design process and analysis results. These reports were presented to internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting collaborative decision-making and project advancement.

  • Produced structured technical reports and presentations for supervisors and project partners.
  • Collaborated daily with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, enhancing communication and problem-solving skills in a highly technical context.

This internship expanded my knowledge of structural mechanics, strengthened my CAE expertise, and gave me first-hand experience working in a fast-paced aerospace innovation team at the forefront of next-generation mobility.
